Laurent has created a unique blend of performance that encompasses the worlds of jazz elements and electronic dance music/house music to create a memorable experience. His vibrant and emotive performances captivate audiences.

Mélange Jazz Collective

Mélange is defined as “a mixture” and that is what we are: a fusion of individual musical talents from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds that combines a diverse and rich range of musical backgrounds and styles inspired from Jazz to Latin, funk, blues, reggae, new music to world beat music. Recognized as one of the finest Jazz ensembles in the Philadelphia region, Mélange is known on the Jazz scene and event circles for crafting and performing fresh artistic interpretation of Jazz standards and for its creative original compositions penned by members of the band.

The ensemble can perform as instrumental – or with a vocalist – as duets, trios, quartets or larger ensembles.

Laurent is honored to be performing for this year’s Fleisher 30^th Founder’s Award honoring artist, environmentalist, and good friend Diane Burko.

‘On Thursday, June 6, Fleisher will honor Diane Burko with the 30th Founder’s Award. The award recognizes individuals who have made a significant commitment to providing access to the arts, promoting excellence in creative expression, and enriching Philadelphia’s cultural resources.

Fleisher is proud to honor Diane for many reasons, including her contributions as an artist, educator, and environmentalist. Diane served on Fleisher’s Board of Directors for many years, helping to create access to arts education for thousands of children and adults, and has been a generous supporter of our work. Most recently, Diane has distinguished herself nationally for her environmental advocacy, and devotes her attention to communicating issues of climate change’.
